My favorite part of my job is when my clients turn into friends. I have had many strangers show up for their photo shoot and later we are celebrating birthdays and life events together. I could not be happier for the instant friendship that formed when I met with Clint and Erika. When you meet these two, you feel like you are hanging out with an old pair of childhood best friends. It’s effortless and so much fun. When we met for the first time at their bridal consultation, our meeting lasted over three hours. Normally, my meetings are about 45 minutes, but we were having such a great time getting to know one another that we lost complete track of time. After their engagement session, these two invited me to dinner where we enjoyed another meal for several hours. We all share a passion for food so we love doing anything that involves sitting around a table that’s topped with deliciousness. Last weekend, I photographed a wedding in San Francisco (their new home town) and I was able to visit the newlyweds for the day. I had so much fun seeing their new place, exploring the city, and of course… eating! Not only do these two give me some of my all time favorite images, they have given me new friendships and I am so thankful.
Clint and Erika’s wedding was amazing from start to finish. I love when wedding days are able to describe the couple. These two were able to personalize their special day in every detail. They tied the knot at the newly remodeled San Diego Public Library and it was an evening filled with artsy decor, old musical classics, and creative food. Their ceremony will forever go down as one of my favorite ceremonies! In all my years of photographing weddings, I have never seen one quite like theirs. Usually, when the bride walks down, she is greeted with soft music. Erika walked down to The Beatles and the crowd was applauding, cheering and whistling. There was so much joy and excitement as she walked toward her groom. It gave me goosebumps. I have never seen a crowd react that way! Their ceremony was filled with worship music and I loved the passion that the room shared for these two and for God. We had a VERY quick timeline afterwards. Erika grabbed her skirt and I literally made them jog from location to location so we could squeeze in as many spots as we could within our limited time. Like always, they had the best attitude and we were able to capture some awesome images. I’m so excited I received the honor to capture such a special day and I can’t wait for our future hangouts to come. Congrats Clint and Erika!
