I am so excited to share Ben and Lindsay’s wedding day. These two tied the knot at one of my all time favorite wedding venues, The Grand Tradition. Ben and Lindsay were a dream couple to photograph. I love the way these two stare at one another, it’s movie like. I love photographing that kind of love. Lindsay was a darling of a bride. She walks and talks with elegance and grace. She is incredibility humble and incredibly sweet. I photographed her sister’s wedding a few years ago and I felt honored to be able to join their family for another incredible celebration.

As most of you know, our family experienced a recent tragedy with the passing of my niece, Kylie. My work was put on hold and before I could even reach out to Lindsay, she beat me to the punch. I opened my emails the following day and was touched by the words the Lindsay wrote:

“I heard the heartbreaking news about your precious niece and just wanted to tell you how sorry I am and that I will continue to lift you and your family up in prayer. I’m praying that The Lord would give you all the incredible sense of comfort and peace that can only come from Him. Kylie is in the loving arms of Jesus, and there is no better place to be than in His arms.

I hope you are able to take a long break from all your work, and I just wanted to tell you not to worry one bit about working on our wedding photos any time soon. Please take all the time you need with your family and be there for them. We know the photos will be fantastic and are excited to see them but honestly we are in no rush at all. Please please don’t feel pressure in any way. Give yourself plenty of time to pray and grieve before returning to work, everybody understands. And no need to reply to this email, I hope you are having a special time with your family and are feeling all the prayers said for you all.”

When I read her email, I cried. I put a lot of pressure on myself to get out images and orders early. To be given that time to be with my family was so greatly needed and appreciated. The day after Kylie’s memorial service, I ran into Lindsay at church. She has a special gift of bringing forth a sense of peace and comfort. This woman is going to make an amazing wife with her patience and servant’s heart. I’m thankful I was able to witness pieces of it.

Ben and Lindsay’s love is genuine and pure. They are a picture perfect couple and so was their wedding day. It was one of my favorite weddings I worked all year. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to end my season with. Congrats Ben and Lindsay!

The Grand Tradition has two terraces. If there isn’t another wedding, you are able to use both. I love when that happens!

Lindsay’s parents had their wedding at The Grand Tradition as well. This is a reenactment of one of their wedding photos.

I love this tradition. The groom sticks his fingers in the rings and however many pulls is how many children they will have.
So far, the predictions from their families previous weddings have been right.
