I have found my new favorite shooting location and I am obsessed! I could photograph all my clients here forever and ever! However, I know it’s only seasonal so I will take advantage of it while I can.
I was lucky when I found this gorgeous field of vibrant grass and flowers. I was driving to a photography conference when a patch of yellow caught my eye. I pulled over and began exploring. I had to FaceTime my husband because I had no one to share my excitement while I danced alone through the waist high fields. As a natural light photographer, one of my greatest assists to my business is my shooting locations. Clients are always looking for the perfect spot for their photos. They typically want something scenic, unique, and free of crowds. On my days off, I try dedicate some time to hike mountains, walk new trails/lakes, and search for areas that I think will appeal to my clients. I have favorite shooting locations based on seasons, but I am always open to finding more.
We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day for this family session. Their daughter is the same age as my son and on the shy side. My oldest son has always been introverted and fearful of the camera so I feel like I am the shy-child whisperer. Rather than making them feel the pressure of a photoshoot, I try my best to let them be their natural selves while I follow from a distant. Parent interaction is key and finding distractions! For this sweet girl, we had her pick flowers, play hide and seek in the tall grass, we threw her in the air, we danced in circles, and continued to simply play! I had so much fun watching her little personality come to life and capturing her parents love on her so effortlessly. Another baby is on the way and that little one will be blessed with such a great family! I have so many favorites from this session and they are posted below! Enjoy!
