Family Session: Fitzgerald’s | La Jolla, CA | Analisa Joy Photography | San Diego, CA Photographer

This was my third photo session with the Fitzgerald family. Margarita is my hair stylist (along with my mom and sister) at Shear Illusions in San Diego. My mom introduced me to Margarita and by sitting in her chair every couple of months she has become a very sweet family friend. I recently photographed Margarita and her husband Phil to celebrate their, Take Shape for Life journey. Together, they have lost more than 200 pounds and now they are using their knowledge to coach others do the same. Their son Dylan is saying his farewells today because he is heading out for the air force tomorrow. I’m so happy that we were able to squeeze in a session before he left. He has a bright future ahead of him! Their daughter Torri is a hairstylist at JDM Hair Salon and she is also the owner of Torri’s Trinkets. At the beginning of our session, she gave me one of her trinkets. It’s a big rhinestone that fits and sticks perfectly  on your iPhone’s home button. My phone is now beautifully bedazzled! For our photo session, we met at Phil and Dylan’s favorite surf spot in La Jolla. Every Sunday, they get together and have some father/son bonding time on the water. It was hard keeping their attention with our perfect beach weather and an ocean filled with surfers. They were so anxious to get out on the water. Thank goodness Margarita made them leave their boards at home or else we would have lost the boys before we even began. We shot until sunset and as we walked backed to our cars, Phil picked up Margarita, threw her over his shoulder, and attempted to throw her into the water. The evening ended with them splashing and kicking water at one another while their kids watched from a safe distance. The Fitzgerald’s are always so much fun to hang out with and they are such a joy to photograph because they share such a love and respect toward one another.
