Meet the Crippen family! I was already booked everyday of their vacation so we decided to have a morning beach session. I arrived early and decided to relax under the pier. I was sitting against a post when I felt a water drop hit my shoulder. I decided to grab my camera bag and scoot over. Within seconds, a downpour of water came from above the pier to the exact spot where I was once sitting. Someone was emptying buckets and buckets of water above me. It’s almost as if they used me as their target. Could you imagine if the Crippen family arrived and I was already soaked from head to toe? I was very thankful for that little water drop of a warning. It gave us all a good laugh.

When I photograph large family sessions, I always prepare myself for the few who were forced to tag along. I try to make it as fun/painless as possible. I am aware that not everyone wants to squeeze in a photo session on their vacation. However, the Crippen family were amazing in every way and they all had zero complaints. Sometimes I photograph families and by the end of it, I’m ready to grab a towel and join in their vacation. I was ready to spend the day with them, but I had more sessions that day and I had to venture off to another beach. The Crippen made this session a breeze and they were always keeping me laughing. My favorite line from the day was when Todd told me that he is the god father of the precious baby named Rose. He referenced himself as the, “Todd Father.” That was great! It was hot, it was sunny, but the family worked together to make it an amazing session!
