Matt and Taylor have known one another since Taylor was six months old. Their family attended the same church growing up and their parents have been close friends since they were babies. Matt and Taylor both were leaders in their Bible Study group and they soon became best friends. Matt was the worship leader and Taylor was the discussion group leader. They started to hang out as friends, but they soon became inseparable. Although Matt wanted to pursue Taylor as more than a friend, she resisted because Matt was moving to serve in South America. However, their connection was too strong and the two agreed to give long distance a chance. Matt moved to Bolivia and they continued their relationship though FaceTime. They virtually dated and soon Matt asked her Dad (over FaceTime, of course) for Taylor’s hand in marriage. He worked with Taylor’s mom with the ring and flew back home for Christmas. He sent Taylor on a scavengar hunt to all their special places and secretly recorded her in every location. The finale took place in Coronado with Matt on one knee and Taylor’s family hiding in the bushes. Matt recently came down to visit for summer (and for this engagement session) and he will be back down for Christmas. I’m impressed that these two are able to maintain such a strong relationship with the distance, but while taking their photos it was obvious that these two were meant to be. Matt will return to the States next June and these two will no longer have to go on virtual dates. They get to tie the knot and enjoy the simplicities of being with one another without fighting for wifi connections. Congrats Matt and Taylor!
