Engagement Session: Josh & Riley | Analisa Joy Photography | Upland, CA Photographer

This has been one of my most anticipated engagement sessions since last year. Josh and I have been friends since junior high. We lived a street apart and we attended the same high school. We have maintained a close relationship for over a decade and he is a huge blessing in me and Trent’s life. Josh has watched me fall in love, get married, have a baby, and I’m proud to say that I am now watching him do the same (I especially can’t wait for the baby part).

I could not have asked for a sweeter girl for Josh. Riley and I instantly connected when we were introduced and she is now one of my best friends. She even watched Bryer be born! She has a servants heart and is incredibly considerate in everything that she does. I love her type A personality, her amazing memory, and her attention to detail. Having her work for me was the best decision I made in my business because she truly keeps me sane.

I’m surprised we managed to squeeze any pictures out during this shoot because I felt like we were always laughing. These two seriously crack me up! My favorite part of their session is when we walked by the lake and saw a bunch of picnic tables in the water. It rained the weekend prior and the water was extra high. I joked about having a picnic in the water, but the thought quickly became a photo opportunity. I put both Josh and Riley on my back (at separate times… I’m not that strong) and I carried them through the water and onto the picnic table. What started as a joke ended up as one of my all time favorite pictures. Another favorite part of their session was when we incorporated music. Josh and I took turns serenading Riley and the random hikers the walked past us. We played a Celine Dion song that’s six minutes long so that Riley could really soak in the beauty of our voices.

After our shoot, they treated me to The Old Spaghetti Factory (my fave) and then we went back to look at their pictures on my computer. Like I said, we were laughing throughout the entire session so we had a handful of bloopers. Riley and I were laughing so hard looking at the photos we had tears streaming down our cheeks. That’s what I love about these two, they never fail at making each other happy (and making me happy). I can’t wait for the big day, it’s going to be the best. Congrats Josh and Riley!!
