I love when I meet couples and they tell me that they are mainly looking to receive at least one good photo. It’s always my objective to photograph a session and to have my clients tell me that they can’t even select a favorite image because they love so many. Those are the best type of responses! I met David and Allie for the first time in Solana Beach and we had so much fun celebrating their engagement.
David and Allie met at a Bruce Springsteen cover band concert in Charlottesville, Virginia. David was finishing up business school and Allie was a nurse at a hospital in Virginia. David had a job lined up in San Diego before they met and when he left for work, they decided to do long distance. Allie found a job in San Diego six months later and she moved to sunny California to reunite with David. They got engaged in March of this year at Cardiff by the Sea. The proposal was like most where the guy tries his best to be sneaky while the girl comments on his weird behavior. They had “planned” a birthday party for Allie back at their house later in the evening and decided to go to happy hour in Cardiff and watch the sunset prior. Allie noticed that David was being super weird and she had no idea why. After happy hour, they went for our walk on the beach (which was not out of the ordinary) and David kept pulling Allie down the beach further and further. This extra long walk was out of the ordinary, but David’s intention was to get them away from strangers and to have a special moment with just the two of them. When he found the perfect spot, David started confessing his love to Allie and he got down on one knee. Allie was so surprised and it was one of the happiest moments of their lives. They got in the car and called their parents and headed home to celebrate Allie’s birthday. They night was filled with extra joy because not only did they get to spend the evening with their friends celebrating Allie’s birthday they also got to celebrate their engagement. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. I’m so happy for David and Allie and I’m crossing my fingers that I captured more than one “good photo.” My favorites are posted below. Enjoy!
