Engagement Session: Casey & Chelsea | Analisa Joy Photography | Upland, CA Photographer

You guyyyyys, I cannot believe I am blogging my best friend’s engagement session!! I am still over the moon excited that she is engaged! Let’s rewind to the beginning… Apple is my favorite store and when I worked at Fashion Valley Mall, I would visit it often. I was always buying equipment for work and/or taking classes. I met Casey who was an employee at the time and would bump into him during his shifts. We shared a lot of common interests (mainly photography) and after a few encounters I came home and told Trent that I found Chelsea’s future husband. Trent told me I was crazy and that I know nothing about this “random” Apple employee (sorry Casey).

During that time, Chelsea was not in a place in her life where she was looking for a boyfriend. However, I knew when she was ready, I would need to point my cupids arrow toward Casey. She moved to Oregon and being the creepy best friend that I am, I would continue to run into Casey at Apple and subtly investigate him. I loved his heart for Jesus, his eye for creativity, and his thirst for travel/adventure. That is totally Chelsea in a nutshell! An added bonus, on the outside he was exactly her type (and Chelsea is everyones type so I knew that this was going to be an effortless matchmaking job).

When I told Chelsea about Casey and how she needed to meet him, she told me I was weird… it was awkward… and several times she told me no. If you know me, you know I am persistent when I feel like something is going to work (I felt this feeling with another pair of my friends and they are now married). Casey and I grew to be friends and we collaborated on a few work projects. Shortly after, he started attending our Bible study and soon he created a close relationship with my husband. Trent was now on board for the Chelsea/Casey matchup. When Chelsea moved back to San Diego, Casey was instantly captivated by her beauty (who isn’t?!) and he initiated a conversation. He took her on a date and she called me that night saying it was the best date that she has ever been on in her entire life!

These two became exclusive pretty quick and they became attached at the hip. A few months later, we all headed to Asia for a mission trip. On our off day we visited Disneyland in Hong Kong and we were in a game show type room with an interactive cartoon named Stitch. Stitch called out Casey and asked if he had a girlfriend. It was low-key at the time, but not holding back Stitch asked Casey if they were in love. That’s a huge question to answer in front of a live audience and a handful of your closest friends. However, without hesitation Casey said yes. Chelsea and I instantly looked at each other with the wide eyed emoji expression! It was so magical to watch my two friends fall in love in Thailand while serving God and and helping others.

I’m so happy for the love that these two share. Together they are adventurous, creative, fun, passionate, and their hearts were made to love on people. For their proposal, Casey reenacted their first date (remember, the best date ever) and it was intimate, tear-filled, and so, so special! Trent and I both get to be in their bridal party which is AWESOME and I’m so excited for all the festivities ahead. Thank you for reading my novel (can you tell I love these two?) and enjoy looking at my favorites from their session. I’m obsessed! Congrats Casey and Chelsea!

Coolest skirt! I love anything with movement!IN LOVE!!!

Best part of photographing friends… Carpooling and pulling over at random places!

You all should be proud of Chelsea. She’s the coldest human and rocked this outfit in the brisk mountains!

Working that GQ look!

Obsessed!

A tiny wood fence we found along the road… Loved it!!

Next pullover… this gorgeous lookout! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Now it’s time be proud of Casey who is afraid of heights. I made him go on on multiple ledges!

Chelsea wanted a forest and we drove until we saw this sun-filled meadow! Dripping with golden glow!

Never comfortable, but it’s the cutest!

This lighting! It was like being inside a lava lamp!
